On August 23rd of this year, the IP logging and retention
requirements of Thailand's Computer Crime Act B.E. 2550 (2007) became
effective for hotels and companies operating in Thailand!
The most notable aspect of the law is the requirement to log and
retain certain IP header information from all of the usual internet
activities (emails, IM chat, FTP downloads, web surfing). You
must retain this log for 90 days (more if requested by the Royal Thai
Police) and failure to do so is now a crime under Thai law,
punishable with fines of up to 500,000 baht. More Detail

IPTV is now here!
Thai-Fi, in alliance with iBAHN, has deployed the iBAHN
IPTV with licensed video on demand content at Accor's Pullman King Power
hotel, the Dusit Laguna Phuket resort and Bumrungrad Hospital.
This is true, digital high definition ready TV which runs through the
Ethernet LAN we install and support at our properties. Because
its IP based, it's so much more than just TV--digital signage, guest
messaging, TV check out, internet over the TV, your own hotel channel
to promote services and other properies in your group--it's all
possible with a true IPTV system. For example, the system's
mesaging service will turn on all TV sets at the Dusit Laguna in
Phuket with emergency procedure instructions in the event of a
Tsunami warning. At Bumrungrad Hospital, menus for all onsite
restaurants are being added to a special Bumrungrad Hosptial channel.
